John advises clients on matters relating to pricing and execution, data-driven commercial strategy, quantitative risk and regulatory analytics, market research and non-financial risk in foreign exchange, crypto currency, structured finance and interest rate markets. John's experience includes representing financial institutions and the banking industry on regulatory and commercial matters. His career includes roles leading the credit derivatives analytics teams during the 2008 crisis for a tier1 US bank, coding pricing models for complex portfolios at a hedge fund, authoring data-driven strategy and forecasts for C-level stakeholders and leading commercial negotiations on deals with strategic partners and private equity firms. In March 2020, John's work for a large European financial institution was recognized as industry best-in-class by an independent third party following delivery of a pricing policy to senior stakeholders and the subsequent implementation of this policy via a near real time, quantitative price control framework now live in over 40 countries. John currently lives in London but also lived in New York for five years and continues to work closely with partners in North America and Asia. He is an avid writer on industry matters and emerging technologies including crypto currency, tokenization, IoT and DeFi and always keen to discuss developments with anyone who shares a common interest. Consistent with his background, John applies data-intensive, quantitative methods that enables clients to leverage their existing technology and infrastructure at low cost and without the need for large IT or change programs. This approach is based on the proven belief that institutions often have everything they need but competing priorities make it challenging to realize these benefits without the right help. Outside of financial markets, John spent 18 months working with technology firms in crypto, ICOs, gaming networks and fintech to explore commercial applications of emerging technologies including blockchain, tokenization, crypto as a medium of exchange, IoT and DeFi. He continues this work today with the objective of providing practical and progressive financial solutions and product for policy makers, firms and individuals alike and is keen to improve the public's awareness of the capabilities, benefits and risks of these technologies.
