Ed is a Managing Director of Citi and Global Head of ICG Risk and Controls. Ed joined Citi after almost two decades with Morgan Stanley where he was a Managing Director, and senior manager within Institutional Securities business unit risk management.
Ed served as Global Head of Securities Cross Divisional Governance and was responsible for setting policy, procedure, and establishing a globally consistent governance framework for the ISG Business Units. This included governance of models , e-trading algorithms, market risk limits, trader mandates, booking models and data.
Over Ed’s 23 year career, Ed has amassed experience across all of Sales and Trading business unit risk management governance and control functions. In 2008 Ed worked closely with global regulators to appreciate the changing control landscape and established numerous risk management initiatives to execute against the new standards of excellence. His collaboration and execution across the businesses worked control functions to establish global Policy, procedure, and governance frameworks, earned him promotions to Vice President in 2009, Executive Director in 2011, and Managing Director in 2014.
Ed now manages a global team at Citi with overall responsibility for ICG’s Operational Risks and Control Frameworks. In his spare time, Ed volunteers to speak on topics such as leadership, overcoming obstacles, managing confidence and the concept of success through simplification, kindness and appreciation…and of course, hard work!!
