Dan Veale

Dan Veale joined Citigroup as the Global Head of Surveillance for ICG. Prior to joining Citi, Dan was the Americas Head of Surveillance at UBS where he worked on the FXCO remediation program and ran the ‘Transaction Monitoring’ remediation program for the (public) AML Cease and Desist. Dan’s 18-year career with UBS began after an internship in London, when he joined the Middle Office Operations team before transitioning to the Equity Derivatives trading desk. He traded derivatives for over ten years, six as a market maker and four running a structured products book covering all equity products, as well as a risk advisor to black-box trading builds and new business initiatives. In 2015, after moving to Tennessee, Dan transitioned into compliance within the Market Conduct team and rolled out SMARTs in the Americas. He later ran Americas eCommunications team to release their first NLP/Machine Learning models, Americas AML Surveillance in 2017, and ultimately became Head of Americas Surveillance broadly in 2018. Dan is a graduate of Point Loma Nazarene University and holds his BS in Business Administration.
